General Manager Sunderland up to 35K basic plus bonus

We are currently looking for a General Manager to run a large leisure centre in the Sunderland area. The centre is well established with a well-established membership base and a large learn to swim programme and will benefit from a significant cap ex investment in 2018 which will take the turnover above the £1m level. As General Manager you will be working with a well-established team of heads of departments and an overall team of around 50 full and part time staff.

We are very keen to talk to experienced managers working within the leisure industry, as this is a leisure management role you will need to have the skills to manage and develop the partnership with the council and meet the targets for engagement, participation and sports development whilst driving the commercial performance and operational standards within the centre. In a competitive marketplace you must be totally clued up on being able to reach and exceed new membership sales targets, to hit multiple revenue streams whilst ensuring costs and labour are effectively controlled at all times.
