General Manager -New Sports & Fitness Centre Opening

Circa £40,000+ £10,000 bonus +benefits

Bristol area

We are looking for a General Manager to lead the launch and opening of a fantastic new state-of-the-art sports and fitness centre in the Bristol area. Working for a leading leisure operator who is genuinely focused on improving the health and fitness of the community they serve and providing advancement opportunities for top performers; this will be a hugely fulfilling role for the successful applicant.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the pre-sales and launch of the new centre.

  • Recruit, coach and inspire your teams, instilling a culture of service excellence and a drive for results.

  • Assess the centres commercial potential and develop and deliver a business plan to increase membership sales and maximise income opportunities.

  • Manage and enhance their product and service offering, ensuring the right sports, leisure and fitness activities are available at times to maximise participation and improve retention.

  • Ensure the facilities are clean, safe, well maintained and compliant with regulatory standards.

  • Working collaboratively with all key stakeholders across the management teams, suppliers, partners and wider community.

  • Managing budgets, income and expenditure.

The person:

  • Great people manager, able to get the best out of individuals to realise their full potential.

  • General Manager, Club Manager, Commercial Manager or Centre Manager experience within a busy multifaceted sports, leisure or fitness environment.

  • Commercially astute who can provide evidence of growing income lines in previous roles.

  • Budgetary experience.

  • Living within commuting distance of the Bristol area.
