We are looking for a General Manager for a well-positioned private members Sports Club in Southwest London with bags of potential. The club is undergoing an exciting modernisation programme and the incoming General Manager will be pivotal in supporting them through this transformation.

General Manager overview:

  • Support, coach and develop a small club management team, inspiring a culture of service excellence, collaboration and empowerment.

  • Work with stakeholders to review the sports facilities, sports & activity programmes and services they provide and help develop a clear strategy to take the club forward.

  • Undertake significant research on possible club enhancements and lead on selected projects through to completion.

  • Make the clubroom, bar and lounge the heart and soul of the club and utilize the extensive function room with members nights, functions and events.

  • Carefully balance the needs of junior members/families with adult members.

  • Ensure the club is a warm welcoming and an enjoyable place to be for both team members and members.

Person Specification:

  • Well presented, personable, and confident interacting with affluent customers.

  • General Management experience in a hospitality focussed private members club environment such as tennis, racquets, golf, fitness or social.

  • Experience in growing functions and events trade and other member enhancing revenue generating ideas.

  • Experience in positively taking teams and business through change.

  • Multi-layer Stakeholder management experience eg working with boards, committees, trusts, councils, members owned clubs.

  • Ideally CAPX project management experience from planning to delivery.

  • The flexibility to work some evenings and weekends (when events are on).

  • Living within easy reach of Southwest London for the daily commute.

  • Have an active interest in sports and well-being.
