Deputy Contract Manager/ Cluster General Manager -Sports, Leisure and Fitness

Up to £52,000 +car + 6% contributory pension+ more

We are looking for a Deputy Contract Manager to support with delivering outstanding health, fitness, sports and leisure services across ten multipurpose sports and leisure centres throughout Birmingham whilst taking direct responsibility for two centres.

You would be working for one of the U.K.'s most progressive leisure management operators who continue to grow across the UK, so this is a fantastic opportunity to develop and grow yourself professionally.

What you'll do:

  • Provide strong, inspirational leadership across multiple sites, ensuring staff are engaged, motivated and delivering excellent service.
  • Oversee financial and operational performance, ensuring delivery against the agreed business plan.
  • Build strong partnerships with Birmingham City Council, BCLT, and other key stakeholders to achieve shared strategic goals.
  • Drive high standards of customer service, safety, and compliance across all sites.
  • Lead on staff training, development, and succession planning to grow capability within the team.
  • Identify growth opportunities and support social outcomes that benefit the local community.
  • Support the contract manager deliver all strategic objectives whilst deputising for them in their absence.

What you'll bring:

  • Senior leadership in the sports, health and fitness sector possibly as a Senior General Manager, Cluster General Manager, Contract Manager or Area Manager
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to plan effectively and deliver against financial targets.
  • A solid understanding of the sports and leisure sector and how it supports health and wellbeing within communities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships.
  • Analytical, operational and strategic planning skills, combined with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
  • A full UK driving licence, with the flexibility to travel between sites.
  • Living within commuting distance of Birmingham or willing to relocate
