Cluster Studio Manager London - £35,000 basic £40,000 OTE

Growing yoga studios in London are looking for dynamic, well-presented, full-time Studio Manager to oversee two or more branches.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a General Manager, Operations Manager or Gym Manager to take responsibility for a busy yoga studio group with two current locations in East and South London to join our dynamic team. Prior leisure industry experience is preferred. We do require at least 3 years prior management experience in a leisure, retail, hotel or restaurant business.

We are searching for a candidate with strengths in people management, operations, sales and marketing, business acumen, and cost control. A manager with drive and confidence who has the qualities of an entrepreneur and who is able to operate quickly in a fast-paced environment is needed for this role. The ability to multi-task and utmost attention to detail is critical for the role. If you are hungry to make an impact, sharp and ultimately willing to "live the job", you will be a leading candidate. Note, working hours will include evenings but not weekends.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years previous management experience (with references)
  • Prior gym, yoga studio, restaurant or retail shop management experience
  • University degree and/or MBA would be a plus
  • Good salesmanship required as this is a client-facing role with front of house responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently and fast under pressure, to apply common sense, and multi-task
  • Excellent, polished English verbal/written communication and people skills
  • Needs to be proactive, bright and well-organised; reliable, and trustworthy
  • Excellent computer literacy with ability to speedily produce various Excel spreadsheets /data presentation as required
  • Ability to work flexible days and hours due to sole manager responsibility
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Should be hands-on and willing to roll up the sleeves
  • Basic accounting/finance knowledge a plus
  • General passion for fitness and health

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Directors who will set the direction for the role
  • Independently manage all aspects of daily business operations with full operational responsibility (transitional period as required)
  • Manage and train a team of approximately 10 employees
  • Take ownership of the studio(s) and do whatever is required to make them successful
  • Prepare & maintain staff schedules, staff training and procedures
  • Deal with member enquiries, book packages and handle client disputes
  • Drive sales (working with the Sales Manager and Marketing Manager)
  • Represent the company at marketing and charity events
  • Deal with suppliers and cleaning companies
  • Have a keen focus on profitability and driving sales while monitoring costs
  • Oversee contractors for repairs, maintenance, H&S compliance and emergencies
  • Report to and attend weekly meetings with Company Directors
  • Provide creative input in terms of marketing, growth of client base/sales, branch expansion
  • Devote certain hours to working with the team on the reception desk
